It's really comes down to experience. They don't know how it FEELS to have things in your body completely changed because you squirt a kid out. My body is not the same one I had before I had Cadence. I could make a whole list of shit that's different. And that is a big emotional difference for me. I used to not be a crier over anything. Sad sap stories never got me. I had Cadie, now BAM I cry over hearing about a soldier giving some little girl a hug from her dad. I can start crying for no reason. I can only imagine how some mothers feel when they feel overweight.
And that all relates to weight loss and physical fitness, endurance and physique too!

Re: Where my inspiration comes from.

I do know how much Julian Michaels drives you crazy but that is prolly the only reason she is a great motivation and inspiration to soooo many people(i think she is quite annoying myself) but she used to be like 200 sum odd pounds and look at her now :) She had to work at it and she overcame it so she has been in sooo many peoples shoes it isn't even funny...I know the people I usually look up to are mommies themselves only a mom knows what your body has to go through(hormone and weight changes)....

Re: What do I wear at the gym?

“The more form-fitting the fabric you wear is, the more it will stay out of your way and you can focus on your technique. However, thats not how the world works, or the body functions, and we are better rewarded from a healthy diet that we work for than lazy choices that come easy.

I also think people would have a better understanding of what their body really needed if 'fat', the fats we need to survive and keep our organs functioning properly, was not so synonymous with fat, as in overweight. Though low-carb is the trend now that must be de-mystified, when people are avoiding getting the right type of fat in their diet, there is just as big of a problem! They end up overcompensating in fat-producing excess carbs.

Balance, balance, balance!

Re: Professionalism and your career

I don't believe in Fake it till you make it at all. We do have a very good organic market, but we also have really shitty fast food options. And really most foreigners that visit aren't buying lunch from the grocery store here either. They're eating the shitty fast food and restaurants we have. So on some level, I think a portion of Americans that don't eat that crap and are contentious about what they put in their mouths are over looked when it comes to the rest of the world. We have 3 grocery stores here in town. One is a super walmart, so what can you expect there. They other two's big marketing point in carrying organic items, gluten-free items and free range poultry products.

Re: Your children may not outlive you.

Saying "Stop feeding your children crap" is not a solution though. Its simply voicing a problem. Instead, America needs to stop and take a good hard look at how they produce and what they sell, and consider why the rest of the world doesn't. We're your closest neighbours, and even we can't handle it. With no pretension meant whatsoever, when I come to the states, even while eating healthy I feel sick sometimes. Food is prepared with different oils, different ingredients, and to different standards. Simply compelling a few people to make the change won't change these statistics. Its time legislators and regulators gave the nations' head a shake.

... that being said, look at the backlash on Michelle Obama for trying to do just that. An education and indoctrination process is needed.

Re: Professionalism and your career

Modesty is very important. Whatever is achieved can be taken away, and it is best to be humble about what those things are. I think this ties into respect as well - if you act as if you are above those you interact with, you're not respecting them. (Granted, you can be above someones pettiness, or can decide not to sink to a level, but thats different.) The other thing is respecting yourself: you'll get nowhere without this. People WILL take advantage of you.

To me, Fake it till you make it doesn't apply here. This is a concept I only believe in when it is a tactic to help people learn self-esteem. Faking it till you make it in that sense is a strategy to allow someone to portray their confidence in order to allow its organic growth internally. I dislike the notion of applying it to someone's knowledge level in their profession. Faking it here, leads to laziness: if you get good at it, why bother to learn that particular thing?

Re: Shameless Plugging.

We volunteer full-time to support men's basketball and to make the student experience at games even better. Like my husband's family. I remember them eating very well, getting lots of outdoors exercise but when his mom started caring for her grand-daughter it was a completely different household.
People really need to be more considerate of how they impose their own feelings on others and their own problems into a situation that will cause for lifetime changes in a child.

Re: Your children may not outlive you.

So if you look at my brother and look at me you can definitely see where my mother started to no longer care about anything. When my parents were together they made use eat peas and other gross veggies that were ew.

Then they got divorced, my mom got all apathetic and basically started buying food that my brother could prepare himself or at least would let him whine about food and she'd give in and make junk food.

I don't want to say that I'm fit or anything because I don't know what that constitutes, but compared to my fatass brother I am the healthier of the two. IT IS a blog, and it's an opinion. -MY- opinion. I am not a registered dietitian. I have no legal grounds to tell anyone what to eat and how much. These were merely facts I found and wanted to share so that people could approach what I've learned with their own perspectives and make their own choices. PETA is a source of unreliable bias driven information and it's annoying.

As for a balanced piece, it's a debate. And I took one stance. I am more of a carnivore. Calling not eating meat a fad is rude, especially to those of us whose bodies have trouble processing meat. And saying to just "eat your meat" is unhelpful. At very least you could've mentioned which plants contain the necessary strands of protein. I guess I was just hoping for a balanced piece - maybe too much to expect from a blog!

Re: Shitty but decent Holiday Season.

Thanks Adrienne :)

Re: Celeb fads in fitness

hahah!
